Bath Day for Chou Chou Briard

This afternoon was bath time -- a good thing to do on a warm summer day. Tomorrow we will visit a new library as part of our animal-assisted therapy program, and Chou Chou has to be clean and brushed for the children.

I got out her shampoo and conditioner, and a few large towels, and started to run the bath water. Immediately Chou came into the bathroom, pushed me aside, and climbed into the empty tub!

She lay down and waited for the water. Cotton balls in ears to keep water out, ("I don't like that! I just shake my head and out they come!") and then the shampoo, followed by a spray of conditioner, finished with a good rinsing.

I read in a dog magazine that if I wash the head last, she won't shake the water off herself, and onto me. ("Ha! So how did that work for you?")

I let her air dry for a couple of hours and then did the blow dry and brushing. ("And then my dinner!")
