I walked Chou Chou around the corner tonight, to run with her friends in the school playground. I got two houses from home when I realized I hadn't locked my back door. I turned around to go back to lock the door and get my key. Chou did not like that!
She very shortly understood that she was heading home, without getting to play with the dogs. She looked up at me with hesitation when I turned, and I said, "Let's go."
Oh! Angry Chou! She started jumping on me, snarly, teeth snapping in protest. She has a sense of fairness, and I violated it: I acted like we were going to play, but I turned back.
As soon as I locked the door, we set out again for the playground, and then she was okay with me again.
