It was hot today, with not much to do. It was like being cooped up with a toddler. So I took Chou to a pet store, to see what we could find, and to have someplace cool to go.
And just like a little child in a toy store, she pulled out whatever she could from the lower shelves.
("That looks like a fun toy... no... maybe this one? But look at this!")
I steered her down a different aisle.
("Mmmm! This smells tasty! Can I get the bag open if I bite this corner?")
I kept pulling her away, putting things back. Why do stores put this stuff on such low shelves? ... What? They do it so I will buy what she chooses? Oh. It worked. I bought her a Frisbee. (She doesn't know how to carry it yet.)
I steered Chou into the bird aisle. No dangers there, right? Wrong. There was an open bin of sunflower seeds that a puppy nose located. But then she distracted herself. ("Look! A Big Red Dog! I'm going over to play! Woof woof!! I'm doing my best puppy bow.... Why are you pulling me away from my new BFF?! ... You are sooo mean!")
As we left, 2 people entered and wanted to pet the beautiful puppy that made them smile. Chou sat politely and nuzzled up to them, putting on all her flirty charm.
Time to go home. I am exhausted!
